Where you've been dining out in London's reopened restaurants (24 July)

With London restaurants back up and running, much of what we're seeing on Instagram feed has moved from cooking at home to dining out. Each week, we'll be gathering together the best of our readers' dining-out Instagram posts. So be sure to tag them #eathotdinners and check to see if they made the cut here every Friday.

Bright

After months at home, we'll take any kind of tostadas, but surprise tostadas are the best kind. Just keep the coriander on the side...

Clipstone

The arancini at Clipstone sound like a greatest hits of the summer. Peas, watercress and Pecorino - yes, please.

DINING OUT 🍽️⁣⁣⁣ ⁣⁣⁣ As someone who loves dining out, I couldn't be happier that many restaurants have reopened their doors this month (although the list of ones which are permanently closing is growing by the day, sadly) and have been making up for lost time. ⁣⁣⁣ ⁣⁣⁣ I'm fast approaching double digits, so it's time to play catch up with my posts, starting with last week's celebratory dinner @clipstonerestaurant.⁣⁣⁣ ⁣⁣⁣ The unanimous highlight was the celeriac and girolles ravioli, which blew us all away with its intense flavours, meaty mushroom texture and fresh pasta. ⁣⁣⁣ ⁣⁣⁣ Other dishes we ordered - pea, pecorino and watercress arancini (something different), beef shin croquettes (slightly dense, but we still polished them off), duck ravioli with broad beans (surprisingly light), Dexter beef Pithivier (generous filling), Cornish hake with beans and leeks (buttery deliciousness) and a rich chocolate mousse in a chilled praline Anglaise to finish.⁣⁣⁣ ⁣⁣⁣ It's such a joy to see London again after months of being stuck in the suburbs, socialising and enjoying different tastes and cuisines. Not having to make it contributes to the pleasure as well. ⁣⁣⁣ ⁣⁣⁣ For a few hours, these welcome distractions take my mind off our latest fertility failure, allow me to reconnect with myself and my passions and remind me of the importance of varied social interactions. ⁣It doesn't mean that I'm miraculously healed, but it does help. ⁣⁣ ⁣⁣⁣ How are you feeling about dining out these days? . . . . . . #SavlaFaire #foodblogfeed #diningout #makeitdelicious #foodfeed #dametravelerfoodie #culturetripfood #tv_foodlovers #eathotdinners #ttccommunity #ttcwarrior #ttcsupport #ttcjourney #ivfjourney #ivfwarrior #ivfsupport #ivfgotthis #fuckinfertility #ivfstrongertogether #indianandinfertile #amplifymelanatedvoices #eaterlondon #golondonfood #timeoutlondon #fertilityjourney #fertilitysupport #fertilityawareness #infertilityawareness #infertilityjourney #infertilitysupport

Darby's

We're a broad church here at Hot Dinners, but if there is something you're going to fetishise, it may as well be these crispy beef fat potatoes.

Da Terra

Winner of our best new restaurant in the 2019 Hot Dinners Awards, this gallery of dishes from the Bethnal Green restaurant makes us want to rebook right now.

Ikoyi

There's some tremendous buzz building about the new menu at Ikoyi - get a booking in as quick as you can.

A fantastic dinner @ikoyi_london last night, the day they finally reopened. We all have cooked more than usual during the last four months and inevitably started making comparisons with some of the food we used to eat when restaurants were open. I dreamed of @jeremychanikoyi’s food quite often during the lockdown and their new “casual” menu proved how talented this team is and why some restaurants really deserve our continuous love and patronage. Perfect hospitality and service, with everyone wearing masks and doing their best to make dinners feel as safe as at home. This remains one of the very few restaurants in London that are worth travelling for. If you still haven’t been, go! #toplondonrestaurants #londonfood #londoneats #eaterlondon #eathotdinners

Dinings

There's nothing better than discovering a new reason to return to an old favourite, and an unexpected alfresco space is particularly welcome in the current times.
