One of the few positives of being forced into lockdown is that we're seeing a new streak of inventiveness in some of London's most talented chefs. That certainly seems the case with the launch of brand new delivery kitchen Hot 4 U.
It's been set up by Matthew Scott, head chef of Cub, and Eddy Tejada, previously at St John and Silo - and it's the first time the two have cooked together. They're creating a weekly changing menu that reads extremely well, and they're delivering it right across London. The menu takes in worldwide cuisine and here's a recent example:
- Buttermilk curds, courgettes and fermented potato crackers
- Mackerel crudo, celtuce & kumquat kosho
- Aztec broccoli, lacto de tigre
- Rabbit glazed in fig leaf and Szechuan daikon & milk tea bun
- Burnt cheesecake, apple custard
That really does sound like quite the meal - previous weeks are completely different and just as impressive.
It's available on Fridays and Saturdays for only for £35 a head - and it's already selling out fast (this weekend is already gone at the time of writing). But you can DM them on Instagram to get in early for next weekend - we think it'll be worth it.
