When you've made your name by sticking to a tried and tested formula, it would take something pretty momentous to change that. But that's a pandemic for you.
For 60 years, Le Relais de Venise has really been a one-dish restaurant. They serve up a simple menu of salad, steak and frites and dessert. And that's it.
But these are trying times we're in and so the company have decided to bring in La Baguette. As the name suggests, it's Le Relais' signature dish in a sandwich. So that's their thinly sliced entrecote steak, loads of french fries and a slathering of their famous piquant sauce.
La Baguette launches in London today. You can either order it to collect from their Marylebone restaurant on 0207 486 0878 or they'll be on Deliveroo. As for the price? Well the basic steak & frites sarnie is £18.50 and if you want another portion of chips on the side it's £21.
