Obviously, the lockdown has meant big changes for many - not least the restaurants that were due to open in the last couple of months. One of those was to be Lila, a restaurant that's going to open in Notting Hill. It's by Jake Finn who was formerly at La Petite Maison, The Ritz, Coya, and Social Eating House.
But as with many restaurants, he's moved to delivering instead - kicking off food delivery that's available throughout London. As he says "A chef isn’t a chef unless he’s cooking and what started as a way to stay sane and busy has become an actual business. With more and more people having virtual dinner parties, or who want big dishes that they can freeze leftovers with, this is the perfect answer."
Here's a taster as to what's on the menu:
- Lamb HotPot - Braised lamb covered with sliced potatoes
- Shredded chicken with sticky caramelised onions
- Confit duck leg with hispi cabbage
- Seabass with sauce vierge
- Ratatouille with crumbled feta and pine nuts
- Mum’s bread and butter pudding
Everything is prepared so it can be both easily delivered all over town and is good for four servings. He also has a BBQ-ready section, with bagged and marinated fish and meat - in case you're able to escape to a garden this weekend.
