Updated 23/4/20 with more branches
During Lockdown, the KFC Twitter account has been busy encouraging devotees to have a go at their own homemade fried chicken (look for the #ratemykfc hashtag). Presumably, this is to help people get over the fact that all of the KFC restaurants were closed.
But now, there's a glimmer of hope for anyone desperate to get hold of a bucket. Slowly, but surely, some of the fast-food giant's restaurants are reopening across the country. They're doing delivery only and a spokesperson said that they've been working with branches to see how they could reopen while keeping staff safe and maintaining social distancing.
Originally, there were four London places that have reopened - Enfield, Hammersmith, Putney and Mornington Crescent. They say they're serving a limited menu, but looked pretty large to us.
Added to that list now are: Ealing (The Mall), Whitechapel - High Street, Colindale, Walworth Road, South Woodford - George Lane.
And opening on Friday 1 May are: Leyton - High Road and Hayes End - Uxbridge Road.
We're sure there'll be more locations opening soon and - of course - we'll bring you that news as soon as we have it. Because, frankly, sometimes KFC works really well as comfort food.
