Over the past few weeks, Jackson Boxer has been tormenting foodies by posting pictures of sandwiches he's been doing at his restaurant Orasay for lucky regulars.
But now, he's extending the joy. He's just started a new delivery service whereby you can order all manner of deliciousness delivered to your door.
"I change the menu every day based on what I feel like cooking, but not a total overhaul," Jackson told Hot Dinners. "Prices are low, portions generous. It's very much the food I love to cook at home, for the people I hold dearest - I'm trying to figure out how to give people that special sense of being in a restaurant where the team really care about looking after you, but in a time of social distancing and isolation."
On offer that the time of writing, the menu included:
- Potato Bread with Shrimp Butter
- La Latteria Burrata, Baby Peas, Wild Garlic
- Poached Leek, Buttermilk, Almonds
- Grilled Courgettes, Broad Beans, Hazelnut, Basil & Pecorino
- Half a Roast Springfield Farm Chicken, Madeira Sauce
- Vanilla Rice, Rhubarb & Cream
The best news is that the five-mile delivery radius means you don't need a million-pound pad to be able to take advantage of the service. And, judging from the comments on Instagram, looks like a lot of Londoners are using this as a date night service. See - romance isn't dead, even under Lockdown.
