What: Peachy Goat
In a nutshell: Plant-based spot for Herne Hill
Summing it all up: Three childhood friends from South London are behind this new all-day spot serving up plant-based food and inspired by their Italian and British backgrounds.
The low-down
Herne Hill is getting a new plant-based bistro. Peachy Goat is being opened by a team of South Londoners. Brothers Oliver and Luca grew up working in their dad's Italian restaurant - locals might remember then from their Bean & Bowl stall in Herne Hill Market. They're being joined by their childhood friend Martyne in the venture.
They say the bistro - which is where Mimosa used to be - will offer "an entirely plant-based, ethically and environmentally sourced food and drink menu, using local suppliers."
The all-day vegan spot will be open from breakfast through to dinner, with boozy brunches planned for the weekend. The menu will be "inspired by British bistro and gastro classics" and they're also planning a fresh pasta menu too.
Their brunch menu is the only one they've put up so far and that includes:
- American-style pumpkin pancakes with spiced maple syrup and yoghurt
- Banana custard French toast with peanut sauce and cashew cream
- Dark chocolate, cherry and apple granola parfait bowl
