If you're after a dining experience with a difference we have just the thing for you. You could say we're telling you what you want, what you really, really want.

The St. Pancras Renaissance has just started offering guests the chance to dine beneath the hotel's famous staircase. Now they'll make a big song and dance about it being "the soul behind Sir George Gilbert Scott’s architectural design", but what it really means is you'll be able to have dinner by the Spice Girls stairs, made famous in their video for Wannabe.

It really is a beautiful space. There's handpainted fleur-de-lis wallpaper, tapestry carpet and wrought-iron balustrading under a starry vaulted ceiling. They'll set up the candle lit table for between two and eight guest, seving up a four course menu created by the hotel's Executive Chef Adam Ashe.

The whole thing kicks off with a private champagne and canapé reception followed by dishes of Devon crab cakes with smoked paprika mayonnaise, slow-cooked beef cheek with all the trimmings and sticky date pudding followed by a selection of British cheeses. Each course is matched by wines.

Dinner will be priced at £155 per person including VAT, a champagne reception and wine flight. But if you want the table all to yourselves it costs an additional £594.
