If the words immersive theatre don't bring you out in hives (we actually LOVE this kind of thing), then get ready to book the Secret Theatre Project which is about to hit London.
The theatre company's latest production, The Invitation, has just played to sell-out crowds in Hong Kong and this one features a dining option as part of the experience.
The Invitation will be a Masquerade Party with a dark secret in a five-star hotel. The setting, Masquerade Palace, is actually the Town Hall Hotel in Bethnal Green. Once you buy a ticket you're given a password to enter, the address and a set of instructions for your role in the production. You can buy a ticket to the peformance only or one with dinner.
As for the food, that's from the hotel's Corner Room restaurant. Participants who choose the dining option will get a two-course meal featuring dishes like:
- BBQ leeks, egg yolk puree, hazelnuts
- Duck parfait, almonds, marinated beetroots
- Cod cheeks, pomme puree, brown butter, capers
- Warm chocolate, artichoke ice cream
