You may be the kind of person for whom the very idea of Hyde Park Winter Wonderland is worse than spending the holidays with your in-laws, in which case there's nothing to see here. If, however, like us, anything that combines rollercoasters with hot toddies, more churros than you can shake a candy cane at AND covers it all with a sprinkling of fake snow and Christmas cheer is just the thing for you, then you're in the right place.
Here's where to eat and drink when you've had your fill of going around the big wheel or cutting a dash on the ice rink.
Sitting down and under cover
There are three main options this year for a sit-down meal at Winter Wonderland.
Making their Winter Wonderland debut is the NYC-style pizza joint Voodoo Rays. They're going to be throwing a Bottomless Pizza Party this year. Book a one-hour session and you can have as many slices as you can manage. It's bookable (which they advise) but there will also be the odd walk-in slot available.
Le Chalet Fondue
Serving up Swiss-inspired fondue, this Alpine lodge is another handy place to book if you're after a seated and heated meal while you're at Winter Wonderland.
Home to live music, singalongs, all the bratwurst you can handle. This is a good place for office outings as you can book group packages which include entry to Winter Wonderland along with a guaranteed table in the hall.
Street food
There are two big street food areas in this year's Winter Wonderland - the Sleigh-By and Street Food Village areas. Here are our highlights:
- Chimney Cakes Lady - you might have already tried these amazing Hungarian cakes at Camden Market, our favourite is the chocolate and oreo version.
- Masa Tacos - sustainable Mexican street food
- The Mac Factory - as you might suspect, it's all about mac & cheese here
- Sen Noods - East Asian-inspired noodle dishes from two school friends turned chefs.
- Only Jerkin’ - Caribbean-inspired fried chicken
- Yorkshire Burrito - the viral hit where a full Sunday roast is wrapped in a burrito
Drinking
Bar Narnia
Bar Ice - a bar, as the name suggests, which is hewn from ice and serves up festive cocktails in ice glasses and sets by live DJS. Happily, they'll also give you a Regatta parka and special gloves to keep you warm while you're enjoying a drink.
Bob’s Barn
New to Winter Wonderland for Christmas 2024 is this Canadian-themed bar. They're going to be serving up a range of cold beers and Canadian-inspired cocktails. There's a terrace bar or you can also drink inside. Best of all, the food is courtesy of Chick n Sours so if you want top-tier fried chicken on your visit, this is the place to go
The Christmas Tree Arms
Presumably inspired by the real-life London boozer The Churchill Arms, this Winter Wonderland pub is covered with Christmas trees and is serving up warming mulled wines and beers.
Thor's Tipi Bar
Wandering in here feels like finding yourself in a little slice of Lapland. They've got roaring log fires inside this giant Scandi tipi so if you're after some boozy hot chocolate or fired up cocktails this is a cosy spot for a break from the cold.
