For just one month, Hovarda in Soho is bringing Istanbul's best burger to London as Akali Burger take over the lunch menu. In Istanbul, the restaurant started as a fusion diner and a boutique bakery but slowly became known for serving some of the city's finest burgers.
Every burger comes in an 80g, 160g or 240g sizes (alas it doesn't look like the 800g size is making it over), and is topped with their pickle spread, made from a secret combination of seven different pickles. Optional toppings include:
- Truffalgar - truffle oil with sweet smoked paprika
- Avocado Cream - a sour cream-based avocado paste
- Eggplant Remoulade - a smoked aubergine mash with cream cheese & garlic.
This promises to be the first takeover at Hovarda, so look for more lunchtime special appearances in the future.
