What: Folie
In a nutshell: Med food and cocktails on Golden Square
Summing it all up: This restaurant on Golden Square is looking to the Riviera and the Mediterranean for its influences and will have a design created by the people behind the look of Chiltern Firehouse.
The low-down
Coming to Golden Square is a new Mediterranean restaurant called Folie that's looking to re-create the experience of the Riviera in London. A tall order, maybe, but they do have the same people behind the design of Chiltern Firehouse pulling things together - so it could look rather special as it's planning to have a 60s/70s decor (which sounds similar to Mama Fuego).
The food is led by Executive Head Chef Christophe Marleix (previously Executive Head Chef at the Grill at the Dorchester and more recently at Annabel's). He'll be creating a menu with Mediterranean influences that includes:
- Sea bream crudo with citrus and avocado
- Provençal braised beef with confit potatoes
- Megrim sole with Menton lemon
- Whole confit lamb shoulder and basil baby potatoes
- Whole sea bass grilled in a charcoal oven served with ratatouille.
- For dessert, tarte tropézienne and seasonal sorbets
There's a separate bar and that will concentrate on classic cocktails - martinis, sazeracs, and negronis, as well as rare pastis and vermouths and fine Armagnac
