A City restaurant has brought in an exciting new chef to charge up its evening offering. By day Farmer J serves up breakfasts and 'field trays' for lunch to City workers beside Monument. By evening it'll now turn into The Fancy Fork - with chef Shuli Wimer running the kitchen.
Wimer, who was born in Galilee, trained up at L28 in Tel Aviv and then spent five years working at The River Cafe in London will serve up a menu inspired by Middle Eastern and Mediterranean flavours.
The sharing dishes she's planning include:
- Padron Peppers with a za’atar and oregano crumb
- Tahini Tuna Tartare with sliced green runner beans
- Freekeh Risotto topped with grilled bone marrow, aubergine and parsley
- Grilled Whole Fish with smashed roasted potatoes, sage and rosemary
If you're after something sweet to finish the meal with, there'll be Semolina Olive Oil Cake served with herb syrup or Coconut Custard with cherries, amaretto and almonds.
