Updated 4/6/19 with full list of restaurants and dishes
If your idea of heaven is spending hours roaming Taste of London with a free pass to eat all the food in sight, then we have good news for you. For this year's festival, they're offering one lucky London foodie the chance to do just that, becoming one of the Best in Taste Awards tasters.
The winner of the competition will get a chance to be Chief Taster, joining the King of Instagram - Clerkenwell Boy, Bloomberg's Richard Vines, Melissa Hemsley, DJ BBQ and Dominique Ansel on the judging panel for the awards. They'll spend a full day sampling each of the hundreds of dishes on offer before the festival opens to the public, picking the winners for categories including Most Instagrammable Dish and the hugely competitive ‘Best in Taste’ award. You can enter your name into the draw here.
Even if you're not lucky enough to win that guest judge position, it sounds as though this year's festival is particularly promising. Several restaurants are coming up with exclusive dishes for the event. Hoppers are doing a 42 Hour Roast Elumas Roti, Flesh & Buns are putting on a Salmon Ceviche with avocado, red onion, red chilli, aji amarillo tigers milk, served with Mio Sparkling Sake and Sartoria will be serving a must-try Fettuccine Cacio Pepe with Truffle.
What we're particularly excited to try are the first dishes from Eggslut, the cult US import that's opening in Portobello this August. They'll be previewing their dishes at Taste to give Londoners the first chance to try their food ahead of the restaurant's August opening.
