Get a spicy Sichuan fix at the Liu Xiaomian popup at the Jackalope in Marylebone

Liuxiaomian

Spicy. Numbing. Addictive. If you're into your spicy food and you love your noodles then those three adjectives tell you all you need to know about Liu Xiaomian.

This street food stall was started by Charlene Liu and her flatmate Liu Qian - who are both from Chongqing, a city in South West China famous for its Sichuan food. When they couldn't get the spicy noodles they loved so much at home, they started doing street food in 2017 at Brick Lane Market where they fast developed a fan base.

Now they've taken up residence in the downstairs floor at The Jackalope pub on Weymouth Mews in Marylebone. Here they're serving up a variety of Chongqing noodles - veggie, with minced pork or with minced pork and chickpeas. There are also regularly changing chef's specials which might be braised beef or maybe spicy pig trotter noodles. You can also opt for a glass noodle version with minced pork and, for dessert, there's ice jelly with brown sugar.

For a bit more info on what to expect maybe check out this review by YouTubers OMG! XIAOBA.
