What: Peck! Peck!

In a nutshell: Sutton & Sons do fried chicken

Summing it all up: East London fish & chips family swap out their all vegan joint for fried chicken instead.

The low-down

East London's fish and chip fried fish and chip purveyors Sutton & Sons first branched out into vegan 'fish' and chips. Now they're going in the other direction - and have switched over their vegan place to become a fried chicken shop.

Peck! Peck! will compete with Hackney's many, many chicken shops with 100% British free-range buttermilk chicken in American style crumb or grilled and served with peri peri chilli sauce.

Their Graham Road space will serve up chicken burgers, buffalo wings and a range of sides. The signature Chic’n’Egg Burger features a brioche bun from local Spence Bakery in Stoke Newington, a grilled chicken thigh, two fried chicken tenders, bacon, egg, Monterey Jack cheese - all covered in ‘Dalston Chili’ mayonnaise.

On the upside for non-meat-eaters - there'll be a vegan burger on sale too using fried seitan with cheese and facon.

The space is mostly for Deliveroo and takeaway, but there will also be communal seating for around 15-20 inside and they're licensed and are serving local beers from Crate Brewery.
