We've long been fans of Ice Cream Union, from back in the days when they used to serve directly out of their warehouse in Spa Terminus, just around the corner from Maltby Street. But now the business has truly come of age, opening its first parlour in chichi Chelsea.
The attention to detail and sourcing is key - from the Original Beans Cru Virunga chocolate they put in their Stracciatella to the fresh Alfonso mangos in their Mango Sorbet.
Unlike other parlours, there's no seating here at Pavilion Road. As MD Alex Fubini explains: "The idea is that customers order and eat ice cream (or have a coffee) directly on top of the ice cream counter. Essentially like a kitchen island where everything happens around the island."
At Chelsea they'll have 20 flavours on offer, 12 are fixed while the other 8 are rotating/seasonal/limited edition flavours.
