What: Tonkotsu Ealing

In a nutshell: Ramen joy for W5

Summing it all up: The ramen group's 10th opening sees them taking over two floors of the Dickens Yard development in Ealing.

The low-down

Londoners do love a good bowl of ramen, so we're sure that the news that Tonkotsu is about to open in Ealing will be met with joy by West Londoners. The ramen outfit's 10th restaurant will be joining the likes of Charlotte's W5 and Pasta Remoli in the Dickens Yard development.

The new Tonkotsu will run over two floors and we like the sound of the bar top made from recyled chopsticks from their other restaurants. VERY sustainable.

As you might expect, co-founders Ken Yamada and Emma Reynolds have been working on some new dishes for W5. Vegetarians will want to try the Miso Mushroom Ramen - made with a konbu & shiitake broth & miso base and topped with shiitake, enoki & shimeji mushrooms, black kale, bamboo shoots, spring onions and seasoned egg. They'll also be showcasing a Christmas special here - Venison Mazesoba - which sees thick noodles topped with minced miso venison & walnuts, spring onions, red currants, nori and a Burford Brown egg yolk.
