The Begging Bowl is popping up in Hoxton for a month

Peckham’s The Begging Bowl is on the move for November, with the restaurant to close for refurbishment and re-locate north of the river temporarily. Having launched six years ago, when it quickly got a reputation as one of London’s best Thai restaurants, co-founder Jane Alty says that the time is right to give the space a spruce up and has launched a Kickstarter to fund the refurbishment plans, which include a brand new cocktails bar, a complete kitchen replacement and new furniture.

Peckham locals will still be able to get their Begging Bowl fix during this time, however, with just a short Overground journey to The Bach in Hoxton. Beginning on 1st November and then running every Wednesday - Saturday in November, the pop-up will offer a ‘best of the Begging Bowl menu, including:

  • Guinea Fowl, Black Kale, Pickled Garlic, Pennywort Salad
  • Turbot, Ginger, Sea Vegetables, Aromatic Broth
  • Fermented Shrimp, Tiger Prawn Relish, Sticky Pork Belly, Green Tomatoes, Castelfranco
  • Salsify, Coconut, Cashew, Green Mandarin Salad
  • Delica Pumpkin, White Sweet Potato, Quince, Chestnut Mussaman

If you live in east London and you’ve never quite made it down to the original Begging Bowl, this is a great opportunity to try some of the best Thai food in London a bit closer to home. Bookings will be taken for groups of 4 - 12 and can be booked through the Begging Bowl website.
