In a nutshell: Lifestyle organic brand opens huge London store with its own restaurant
Summing it all up: If you sometimes like to pretend that you live in bucolic Oxfordshire rather than a studio in Peckham or semi in Southgate, then the opening of this huge new Daylesford farmshop with an all day restaurant is going to be your new go-to place to hang out.
The low-down
If there's a shop or lifestyle brand more guaranteed to make you feel like you're not quite living up to your potential, it's Daylesford. We LOVE their Cotswolds store even if it does give us total lifestyle envy (why don't WE have our own rose-producing vineyard in Provence? SO unfair). So news that they're opening a massive new farmshop and cafe, their fourth in London, brings us joy to the same degree to which it will empty our bank accounts.
The huge new store on Sloane Avenue in Brompton Cross takes up over 7,500 square feet and spans three floors. In the farmshop you'll find daily deliveries of the award-winning organic food made on the Daylesford organic farm. You can buy the cheese, milk, yoghurt and butter made in their Creamery; freshly baked bread, cakes, pastries and biscuits, top ready meals and soups as well as meat from Daylesford’s pasture-raised, organic animals. And the rosé too. There'll also be a food-to-go counter serving up seasonal salads and sandwiches to take away.
The organic café with room for 80 diners will be open all day. There'll be huge open ovens on both the first and second floors making this the first London store to serve up Daylesford’s sourdough pizzas (with vegan and veggie options). Plus you'll find a rotisserie cooking spit-roasted lamb joints and whole organic chickens.
Another new addition will be a juice bar serving organic plant-based drinks and smoothies so you can kickstart your day with combos like Matcha & Kale or Espresso & Dates.
There'll also be an extensive events calendar which will see the store putting on special supper clubs, wellness workshops and masterclasses on butchery.
