What: Maple
In a nutshell: Westfield London bar from the Botanist crowd
Summing it all up: A big new bar from the people behind The Botanist, The Jugged Hare and Greenwood opens at Westfield London in Shepherd's Bush.
The low-down
Westfield London (that's the one in Shepherd's Bush) is getting ever bigger, with lots more coming this year (including their food hall). And as part of that is the latest from the people behind The Botanist and The Jugged Hare - Maple. So if you need to escape the shopping crowds, this could be the place.
As for the food, expect similar to their other venues, with a focus on rare breed meat and sustainable fish served on the bone - here's a taster:
- Soft-shell crab slider
- Beef carpaccio with Berkswell and roasted hazelnuts;
- Maple-glazed chicken wings with sesame seeds and spring onion
- Poached chorizo with turmeric mayo and crispy shallot.
The restaurant will be designed by Russell Sage Studio (behind Cafe Murano, Little Social and more) and will be a big old place, fitting in 170. There will be a big central bar with copper beer tanks above it (expect a rotating list of craft beers) and an open kitchen too. On top of this, there's a terrace for a further 80 too.
