Update - Dan Doherty tells us all about the new pub, right over here.
Original story follows
Dan Doherty has been very busy of late. Not only is he a judge on the BBC's Britain's Best Home Cook and is getting ready to open a restaurant in New York, but now we know what his plans in London are. He's just bought the Royal Oak in Marylebone and that will be his London base going forward.
Details are thin on the ground at the moment, but an Instagram announcement tells us that we can expect a quick turnaround: " I firmly believe pubs are the anchors in a community; facilitating great times rather than dictating them. Because of that, we want to share our vision with our community. We want you to see it at its worst all the way through to its best. With everything in-between. We will be closed until 19th June so we can give it a clean, find a kitchen from somewhere, install some epic beers and build our wine list. Then after that, well let’s see." I firmly believe pubs are the anchors in a community; facilitating great times rather than dictating them. Because of that, we want to share our vision with our community. We want you to see it at its worst all the way through to its best. With everything in-between."
We'll do a bit of digging and let you know more about the place as soon as we can.
