Summing it all up: There's a big new Patty & Bun planned for Borough High Street and this one is going to launch with an exclusive breakfast menu. The space is big too with a floor devoted to groups and parties.
The low-down
It's a red letter day for the burger chain Patty & Bun as they announce their 10th restaurant opening. What they're describing as "their most ambitious opening to date" will open up on Borough High Street in mid May. And the big thing you need to know is that it'll have an exclusive breakfast menu. Up until now, their Liverpool Street branch has been the only other one serving breakfast. They will be serving it up on weekdays only, with AllPress coffee on offer too, and the menu reads like this:
- Bacon Bun - Bacon Patty, P&B Brekkie Sauce, Ketchup, Seeded Bun
- Sausage Bun - Sausage Patty, P&B Brekkie Sauce, Ketchup, Seeded Bun
- Veggie Bun - Herb Omelette, Spicy Mayo, Pickles, Herbs, P&B Chutney, Seeded Bun
- The Filthy Animal (This will be on/off the menu) - Sausage Patty, Bacon Patty, Egg, P&B Brekkie Sauce, Ketchup, Seeded Bun
- E.T.S - Tomato Compote, Spinach & Egg
On the ground floor, the place will look a little more like that City branch, with an open kitchen, more geared up to takeaway. Downstairs there'll be seats for 50 - perfect for large groups. The whole space down there can be booked out for parties.
The whole thing is a bit of a return to owner Joe Grossmann's roots. "Borough holds a very close spot in my heart," he says, "as it's where I began my food journey years ago working at Roast, along with it being home to our bakers Bread Ahead."
