We're always sad to hear of a London restaurant closing, particularly any that have managed to survive their first year, let alone three more. But these things happen and yesterday Bethnal Green's The Typing Room sent out an email to its customers saying that they'd be doing their last service at the end of June.
According to the mailout the head chef Lee Westcott "has decided to pursue new culinary ambitions and will focus on other future projects."
It's a firm closing too - as the hotel's not planning on putting another restaurant in to replace Typing Room, focusing instead on their other restaurant, the Corner Room.
"Although a little sad, I’m also looking forward to exploring other culinary options and getting stuck in exciting projects in the future," said Lee.
If you love the restaurant and want to try it at least one more time before it closes, they're taking booking until the end of June.
