Open barely more than a week and already the recipient of a lovely review in The Standard, Hide restaurant on Piccadilly - a joint venture between could-he-be-any-bigger chef Ollie Dabous and the folks at Hedonism Wines - is probably going to be the restaurant you hear most about over the coming weeks and months.
We popped in yesterday to get a bit of a guided tour now that they've opened for business and, frankly, the place looks amazing. From the thick scalloped marble downstairs bar, to the huge walk-in wine cellar and multiple private dining rooms, the place is quite astonishing. But don't take our word for it - we took a few snaps to show you.
Let's start with the stairs which are bogglingly beautiful...
Down in the basement, the downstairs bar feels like something you'd expect to find in a Bond villain's lair - in a good way. Here you'll get bar snacks like home-cured charcuterie of goose with sage and fenugreek or Cornish salt-marsh lamb with lesser calamint or one of of Dabbous' charcoal flatbreads if you like.
There are three private dining rooms down here - seating between four and six - but in all honesty they're more like little art installations.
The walk-in wine cellar. For a quick video tour of what's in here, check out our Instagram post.
Up one floor, on Ground, there's the all day restaurant, open from breakfast through to dinner. We only popped in for a coffee and cake but our birch sap croissant on a liquorice stick was bloody wonderful.
And one floor up on Above is where the real magic happens - this is the place for tasting menus and wine flights. It has lovely views across to Green Park too.
The Above floor is where the main private dining rooms are. Hide and Seek (see what they did there?) are two rooms which can be separated out or brought together as one main private dining room seating up to 20.
