Butchies is coming to the John Lewis rooftop for their Summer of Sound

It's that time of year where the summer plans for London's rooftops are being unveiled, and latest among these is the John Lewis rooftop - which is becoming Summer of Sound On The Roof. That's because this year, it's all about music. So expect live gigs, DJ sets and acoustic music on their rooftop all summer long.

But frankly, it's more about the food for us - and there's the great news that you'll be able to get your Butchies fix on the rooftop if you've just done too much Oxford Street shopping. They'll be bringing all the buttermilk chicken sandwiches you can handle, as well as a few new creations. There's the Freddie Mercur-Bee” which adds smoky bacon and chilli-infused honey, with organic honey sourced from local London beekeepers. On top of that, new sides include Chilli-Honey Fried Halloumi and the vegetarian Kale, Avocado and Almond Salad

And for dessert, it's ice-cream sandwich time. So there will be retro ice-cream sandwiches from Happy Endings Desserts, including strawberry parfait and malted milk.

Continuing the music theme, you can also book to eat your food in private "immersive sound studios" from Sonos, Ruark Audio and Naim, each with an individual playlist. And for summer drinks, there will be the Fever-Tree Gin & Tonic Garden, if you fancy a G&T on the roof. And Background Bars will be serving up wine, beer and cocktails including a Rhubarb Negroni, Sparking Serenata, Jazzy, Drum & Sax and Mr Earl’s Quartet.
