It's been an "interesting" period for Byron. It's probably fair to say that with their rapid expansion - not to mention hitting the headlines over immigration issues - they've lost some of the love that the British public had for them, back in the day.
But the burger chain is fighting back with a massive overhaul of its menu, which kicks off today with seven new burgers. Here's what's new from today.
For carnivores
Big Smoke – 100% British beef patty, topped with pulled BBQ beef brisket, mature cheddar, dry cured bacon, crispy onions, shredded iceberg, pickles, smoked chilli BBQ sauce
Reuben – 100% British beef patty, topped with pulled BBQ beef brisket, sauerkraut pickle relish, bacon & onion crumb, American mustard, mustard mayonnaise, beer onions, lettuce, Byron Cheese sauce on the side
For flexitarians
Classic Flex –patty made from 30% sautéed mushrooms and 70% British beef, lettuce, tomato, red onion, mayonnaise
Reflex – lets you upgrade the Flex with toppings including red pepper ketchup, tomato, red onion, kale, roasted garlic & rosemary mayonnaise
For vegetarians
Cheese Melt – beer battered smoked cheese, shredded iceberg, mustard mayonnaise, pickled red onion, pickles, BBQ sauce
Jack Stack – veggie bean patty, pulled BBQ jackfruit, homemade guacamole, baby spinach, lime-dressed rainbow slaw, coriander
For vegans
Beetnik – beetroot falafel patty, baby kale, smashed avocado, tomato, pickled red onions, red pepper ketchup, lime-dressed rainbow slaw
