Dalston's Untitled is launching the Asahi Moon Garden (with yakitori!)

Like many others, we were rather taken by Tony Conigliaro's Untitled in Dalston. Wonderful cocktails, a beautifully designed room and the tempura chocolates are still among our favourite things ever.

And when we visited, we were much impressed by the potential for the huge outside space at the back - and now they're unveiling its latest incarnation - the Asahi Moon Garden. It's all being put together by designers Jasmin & Tom at Soho & Co (who are actually regulars at Untitled) and is inspired by historic Japanese temple gardens.

As you may have worked out - this is sponsored by Asahi, so there's an Asahi Super Dry bar out there, as well as seating for 20. And on top of the beer, there will be an extended sake list and garden cocktail menu. They'll also have a herb wall which they'll be making use of for both the cocktails and food.

As for that food, it'll primarily be charcoal grilled and the weekends will all be about Japanese-style yakitori, with meat and veg (inc vegan) yakitori available all Saturday and Sunday evening. We LOVE yakitori, so all this makes us happy. Here's what's on the menu to start with (from £4.75 per skewer):

  • Meat & Fish: Lamb neck with spicy miso- or Eel with Teriyaki-style sauce
  • Veg & Vegan: Pickled shitake (Vegan suitable) or Sweet & sour pearl onions (vegan suitable)

And on top of that, they'll be bringing in some of London's best chefs to create a one-off yakitori skewer menu on Sunday. Already lined up are Koya and Peckham’s Aside (more names coming soon).

When: 18 May 2017

Where: 538 Kingsland Road, London E8 4AH
