What: Pocho
In a nutshell: The guys behind Breddos do sliders
Summing it all up: Nud and Chris from Breddos are branching out with a brand new concept of a Southern Cali-style menu of sliders, tacos and tostadas at Canary Wharf's Giant Robot.
The low-down
We have one question for you: how the hell do the chaps from Breddos Tacos find the time to launch an entirely new street food concept? I mean they've just opened up at Feast Canteen in Hammersmith. They'll be one of the traders at Swingers West End when it opens and with all that going on, Nud and Chris are now launching Pocho today at Giant Robot.
What's really exciting about Pocho is that it's a brand new menu going way beyond tacos. Inspired by Southern Californian food, they'll be serving up a mix of sliders, tacos and tostadas.
On the tacos front there'll be beef brisket barbacoa, Californian fried chicken, confit pork belly and smoked cauliflower. For tostadas there’s spicy hamachi ceviche with daikon coleslaw, avocado and peanut or how about beetroot poké with miso, meyer lemon, queso fresco, mint and pecans.
We have to say the slider menu in particular sounds worth trying - from the Jalapeño Cheeseburger with an aged-beef patty, butter-braised jalapeños, American cheese, blue cheese, lettuce and Pocho sauce to their Veggie Burger - which features a panko-crusted potato cake, cheddar, chipotle, lettuce and Pocho sauce.
Sides will be Pocho Fries with cheese sauce, beef brisket, sour cream, pickled chile and coriander, crispy Corn Chips with guacamole, Confit Chicken Wings glazed with honey-habanero sauce and we're told that's just the start.
