Summing it all up: New to Chelsea's Pavilion Road, from the team behind iconic hotels Cliveden and Chewton Glen this all day restaurant and bar aims to be a stylish neighbourhood spot for SW1 folk.
The low-down
It's hard to keep pace with the rate of openings down on Chelsea's new food thoroughfare, Pavilion Road, but the latest place Hans' Bar & Grill does stand out. This new all-day spot will link the hotel at 11 Cadogan Gardens with the restaurants and cafes on Pavilion Road. And when you hear that 11 Cadogan Gardens is from the same stable as Chewton Glen and Cliveden you know that this is going to be worth checking out.
The dynamic duo running the place will be Head Chef Adam England (previously of Le Pont de la Tour) and Restaurant General Manager, Simon Smith (previously of Berners Tavern and Hakkasan). The space will have room for 106 diners as well as 20 in a separate bar and 16 in a private dining room.
Breakfast and brunch will be available every day for Chelsea shoppers combining classics like eggs benedict and steak tartare with fresh-pressed juices and smoothies. For lunch or dinner, the menu will move to dishes inspired by what's in season so there might be confit salmon with goats curd and cucumber or the restaurant's take on veal carpaccio.
As you'd expect from anywhere named after Hans Sloane, who's credited with bringing cocoa to the UK, this is going to be a serious chocoholics dream with all manner of chocolate based desserts and hot drinks.
To drink the wine list will roam all over the world with over 195 wines on offer. The cocktail list, designed by mixologist Salvatore Damiano will use British spirits to put a twist on classic drinks.
Restaurant General Manager, Simon Smith (previously of Berners Tavern and Hakkasan) will oversee the wine list which will feature over 195 BINS with a focus on unique and quirky bottles from around the world, whilst a concise list of classic cocktails designed by Salvatore Damiano, and using British spirits, will include a twist on a Gin Sour and the British Mule.
