What: Stockwell Continental
In a nutshell: All day dining in Stockwell
Summing it all up: A new all-day destination is coming to Stockwell with the impressive pedigree of the people behind Waterloo's Anchor and Hope in charge.
The low-down
It looks like Stockwell is soon going to home to an all-day restaurant with pretty impressive pedigree. Stockwell Continental is coming from the same people behind Waterloo's Anchor and Hope and Lambeth's Canton Arms. Both those are very highly rated indeed, so we've similarly high expectations for Stockwell Continental.
Based on their Instagram account: "Mornings start with coffees, pastries and juices or stop by for lunch as the menu evolves with a selection of focaccia, fresh pastas and salad. Evenings will be all about aperitivo, sourdough pizzas, homemade salumi and pasta. We’ll have wine and craft beer to go with wood fired steaks and specials changing regularly to suit the season."
We've just had a peak at an interim menu, which you can see below. Once they're fully up and running they'll be adding two pastas, more homemade gelato and a seasonal pizza offering too. And tney will start doing pastries in the mornings and brunch on weekends. Right now the thing we want most is that The Continental offering - anchovy and tomato pizza followed by the rib eye or pork, all cooked in the pizza oven.
