Updated 18/1/18 with opening date and soft launch offer
What: Prosecco House
In a nutshell: Prosecco, cicchetti and bellinis
Summing it all up:Nestled amid one of One Tower Bridge's high-spec luxury apartment developments comes Prosecco House, a new bar that'll serve nothing but bottles of spumante, frizzante, and tranquillo Prosecco, and a few cichetti to tide you over. But don't be put off by the surroundings - prices look very reasonable indeed, and bottles will be available to takeaway too.
The low-down
We love Prosecco. You love Prosecco. It's a fact: everyone bloody *loves* Prosecco. So it makes perfect sense that London's getting a bar exclusively devoted to the fizzy stuff. Billed as the first - there's actually already one in Camden, Trufflesecco, but this one is going BIG.
No longer Champagne's dowdy aunt, Prosecco will be given its moment in the spotlight at the new bar, which will boast more than 20 bottles imported from across Italy, where the drink is exclusively made. Excitingly for big fans of Prosecco, you'll be able to sample wares from five family-owned vineyards which aren't found anywhere else in London, including Marchiori, Rivalta and Cirotto.
If you prefer, there'll be cocktails like Aperol spritz and bellinis for you to sip instead, and cicchetti bar snacks will be provided like salami lovison, prosciutto, gorgonzola and ricotta with sundried tomatoes.
You'll be able to buy bottles to go, and amazingly, order your magnum (or a 3l jeroboam, if you're feeling extra-flush) to your door with Ubereats and Deliveroo - just make sure the driver knows not to let it get too shaken up...
And the other good news is that despite appearances, it won't be prohibitively expensive, with prices starting from £7.50 for a glass and £30 for a bottle. Well on the reasonable side, if you ask us.
