Street XO restaurant in Mayfair has just launched its very down destination cocktail bar – CircusXO. Downstairs in the restaurant, the drinks menu at CircusXO is the culmination of many months of work and input the multi Michelin-starred chef and the bar team at StreetXO.
With the cocktail list at StreetXO popular since opening, Muñoz committed to creating a stand-alone bar to showcase them, with the aim of making CircusXO a destination spot. On first glance, you might be mistaken for thinking you’ve been accidentally been given the wrong menu, but this gastronomic approach to drinks is all part of Muñoz’s plan for the bar.
Drinks are £12 - £16 and include:
- Drinking Pekin Duck – Hoisin syrup, mezcal dressed with Shoaxing wine, lime juice, cucumber, soda, duck condiment
- The mythic Tom Kha Kai – Galanga, coriander, kaffir lime, chili, flying fish roe, coconut
- Yellow Curry – saffron, ginger, lemongrass, mandarins, cumin, basil
- Bloody Som Tum – papaya, Josper smoked chili shrub, tequila, hibiscus
And there's more - with the ‘XO Premium Twist’ menu - four classic drinks made with premium spirits which you wouldn’t normally find their way into a cocktail glass. This premium menu starts at £30 and heads north pretty quickly from there. Drinks featured include:
- Spicy & Smoky Margarita – Wild Jabalimezcal, triple sec, Josper smoked chili shrub, worm salt
- High Society Sazerac – Macallan 18, Martell XO, Pernod Absinthe, lemon twist
- Imperial Japanese Sour – SuntoriHibiki 17, yuzu, ginger, egg white
- King of Old Fashioned – Havana Club MAXIMO, Demerara sugar, coffee bitters
And there's still more - the "XO Drivers Experience". Alongside two entirely new drinks, Muñozhas carefully adapted some of his most famous creations into non-alcoholic cocktails so you don't feel left out if you don't fancy alcohol. They're from £7.50 - £8.50 and include:
- Liquid Madrizzzzz DiverXO – violet shrub, lime ginger, jasmine perfume
- Brazilian White Chocolate –yuzu and mango chutney
- Matcha and Apple Mexican Tiradito – coriander jalapenos, worm salt
- Green Seedlip and Tonic – edamame, cucumber
