Hackneyites, get ready for “the world’s tastiest snacks” when Morning Lane’s Legs is temporarily taken over by Seb Myers and Freddie Janssen, the duo behind the upcoming Snackbar.
It’ll be the latest in their series of residencies, having already taken the helm at kitchens in The Laughing Heart and Our/London, as well as running three-day pop-up at Borough Market. All this before getting ready to open their own place early next year.
But what *are* the world’s tastiest snacks? According to Snackbar, that’s mad mashups like lobster roll with lovage crisps, a mortadella banh mi, potstickers (similar to gyoza) and eel broth, and wild pea with lardo tostada. All this we’ve been promised, plus a handful of brand new dishes, some of which we assume will feature on the brunch service they’ll be running on the weekend.
If this is your first encounter with Snackbar, then it may interest you to know that Seb, aside from looking after the kitchen in The Laughing Heart La Cave, has also cut his teeth at Chiltern Firehouse, plus Sager + Wilde Paradise Row. Meanwhile, Freddie runs pop-ups and is such a huge fan of pickling, she wrote a cookbook on it. All of which means you should be in a very safe set of hands when you venture down.
