It seems right to be writing on Independence Day that America is taking over London's Avenue restaurant in the heart of St James. But just for the summer.
They're turning the bar area into a mini Hamptons with a whole range of dishes and East Coast-inspired cocktails.
On the drinks list you'll find Life’s a Peach, which shakes Tanqueray 10 gin with hibiscus syrup, peach puree and Brotherhood sparkling Chardonnay from the New York state winery and plenty of Frozen Watermelon Martinis.
We're particularly taken with the new bar menu items like lobster rolls and dressed crab with avocado alongside freshly shucked Jersey oysters dressed in a mignonette sauce.
