Updated with opening date
Mexican food in London really seems to be going to the next level at the moment. With El Pastor, Breddos, Corazon and hopefully the return of Santo Remedio in 2017, it really is the next big thing. And now another top Mexican chef is coming to town...
Martha Ortiz has won plaudits for Mexico City's Dulce Patria and now she's coming to the InterContinental Park Lane, joining Theo Randall as the hotel's second restaurant, called Ella Canta. The restaurant will be designed by David Collins Studio and has the rather prestigious address of 1 Park Lane.
Promised for the menu are:
- Vampire ceviche with mango and sangrita sorbet
- Crispy pork and amaranth tamal with chiltomate sauce and pickled red onion
- Seafood and lobster pozole with cacahuazintle corn
- Pato al mole negro with Gressingham duck, plantain plume and corn-infused rice
And on top of that, expect a standalone bar with its own snacks, as well as lots of mezcal (truly the drink of the moment) and tequila on the menu.
