Lord of the Wings are bringing their fried, free range, sauce-drenched chicken wings to Highgate pub The Duke’s Head
American-inspired buffalo wings is Lord of the Wings' speciality, who are temporarily moving into The Duke’s Head, bringing with them lots of Southern-style cooking, including minted watermelon salad, tropical frozen fruit bars and of course, lots of Buffalo wings, slathered in one of five sauces of your choice.
On your wings, which come with celery and blue cheese dip, you can choose from:
- Buffalo
- Kansas City (Sweet BBQ)
- Memphis (Smoky BBQ)
- South Carolina (Sweet Mustard)
- Texas (Fiery)
The idea is that each sauce evokes a different part of the states. “We use the chicken wing as a vehicle to help travel through America,” they said, inspired by a recent roadtrip through NY state, which they’re calling a ‘wing-pilgrimage’.
The sides menu has a several American classics like slaw, which Lord of the Rings makes with citrus, plus sweet potato or waffle fries, buffalo-sauce battered cauliflower, mango salsa with tortilla chips and that refreshing-sounding watermelon salad.
When: 4-31 July
Where: 16 Highgate High Street, London N6 5JG
