If your heart sings at the thought of seafood for breakfast, lunch and dinner then you’ll be pleased to know that Bonnie Gull is now set to open a new seafood bar and cafe pop-up in Mayfair.
Based in Brown Hart Gardens , the pop-up will build on the succss of their Soho and Fitzrovia restaurants/shacks. Food will definitely be seafood heavy, but not exclusively so, with a more than a few creative vegan dishes on offer.
For breakfast, you can try London smoked salmon with poached Arlington Egg, or if you prefer, a vegan granola with apple, goji berries and flax seeds, while lunchtime will see options like half native lobster with fennel, or Selsey white crab. If you’re feeling like something a tad lighter then there’ll other dishes for you to choose from like marinaded tofu, roasted butternut squash with marinated peppers, or Israeli couscous with baby spinach.
It’s dinner where the big guns really come out, like their Beetroot-cured Loch Duart salmon with quinoa, Cornish octopus carpaccio with soy, ginger and chilli, or a frankly mammoth seafood platter including half Selsey brown crab, half Cornish lobster, Scottish langoustines, rock oysters, Cornish mackerel and the aforementioned smoked salmon.
You’ll be able to round it all off with classic English puds like strawberries and cream Eton mess, with elderflower mascarpone - perfect for munching while watching their open air screening of Wimbledon.
“Our offering will be a great summer pairing for this unique space where local residents, workers and tourists can come and enjoy the best of British produce and feel like they’re by the sea,” said Alex Hunter, Bonnie Gull’s MD.
