We're always intrigued to see how Taste of London is going to step it up each year. You can always rely on the food festival to have something new to get London's foodies going and this year is no exception. Of all the fun stuff they have planned, we reckon The Taste Residence will be one of the key experiences to book for and the good news is that this is a money can buy situation - if you're fast enough to get tickets...
The organisers have managed to persuade some of the best chefs in the world to cook a series of intimate dinners in a chef's table environment. And it's an impressive list.
Alex Atala of 2 Michelin-starred D.O.M in Sao Paolo will be bringing over special Amazonian ingredients that are the hallmark of his cooking.
Ana Roš, the World’s 50 Best’s Female Chef of the Year from Western Slovenia has a menu which features parsnip and trout eggs and ravioli with wild hops and bone marrow, hazelnut and prosciutto broth.
Finally, Ollie Dabbous who's recently just opened at The Henrietta hotel here in Covent Garden, will be making some of his favourite dishes and showcasing others from his brand-new restaurant.
The Residence itself is the brainchild of Andrea Petrini, who Time Magazine described as a ‘God of Food’ - a writer who's been in the business for more than 30 years and is the founder of GELINAZ! - the international chef think tank. As for delivery, service will in the more-than-capable hands of the lovely maître d’ Paulo de Tarso, owner of Margot restaurant.
So if you fancy getting up close to some top chefs to see them at work - and chat while they make four taster-sized dishes with accompanying wine - this is for you.
