Duck & Waffle’s Dan Doherty has keeping busy. Following on from the recent launch of Duck & Waffle Local, the chef director will now be trying his hand at his first completely solo venture - a pop-up supper club called Sprout. And he'll be launching that in Harvey Nichols this summer.
Visitors to the fifth floor terrace of the Knightsbridge department store can expect to be treated to a full on dining experience, complete with masses of sprout-y decor in “a celebration of seasonal ingredients and greenery”.
We’ve not yet been told exactly what kind of dishes will feature on the £40 set menu, but you can expect to see sharing plates for starters, followed by a main that’s heavy on British flavours, and a classic British dessert with a twist to finish. There’ll also be a Sipsmith cocktail handed to you on arrival, plus nibbles to match.
“The food will be simple and tasty, which is all it needs to be,” said Dan. “We’re working with a local florist and ceramicist to create a gorgeous green space on the Fifth Floor Terrace; Sprout will be as much about the plants and ceramics that furnish it as it will be about the food.”
We’ve got *zero* doubt that this will be a popular one, so if you’re keen to get down then be warned: Sprout will only run for four nights with 40 covers, so make sure you book well in advance.
