What: Dokke
In a nutshell: High-end dining in St Katharine's
Summing it all up: A new upmarket restaurant is opening in London's only marina, led by Neil Wager, who'll be serving up food inspired by his many years cooking on private island resorts.
The low-down
From ultra-luxe Cambodian resorts to St Katharine Docks - Neil Wager is taking a step back from the limelight to return to his English roots with Dokke.
The chef, who’s got the enviable title of “luxury private island specialist” will be bringing his upmarket know how to Dokke, a new restaurant in London’s St Katharine Docks. There, he’ll be serving up contemporary food that’s both “healthy and exotic”, which will echo his years abroad spent cooking for members of high society.
“I’m looking forward to sharing my food, a clean, healthy style with an injection of flavours from my travels around the world through Spice Routes, Southeast Asia, Africa, the Americas and Europe, with Londoners and those visiting from further afield,” Wager said.
The menu options will be on rotation, but wherever possible, they'll use produce sourced at nearby Borough, Billingsgate and Smithfield markets.
If you go, you can expect to feel seriously pampered, with chefs on hand to answer questions, and plenty of seating options, from armchairs to an outside terrace with great views, or even the chef’s table. You’ll also be able to visit during the day, for a more informal atmosphere when they’ll be running a high-end cafe service, and on Sundays for brunches and roasts.
