What: Jules
In a nutshell: Putney neighbourhood spot
Summing it all up: From brunch to dinner and cocktails this new all day spot off Putney High Street should be a popular pit stop
The low-down
There's an interesting new neighbourhood spot opening in Putney today. Jules is an all day brasserie just off the high street and it's the first hospitality venture by George Porchester, heir to the Highclere estate or Downton if you will.
Chef Alvaro San Millan will kick off the day with a breakfast and brunch menu - think toast with flavoured butters, huevos revueltos (Mexican scrambled eggs) or their version of the full English featuring fried free-range eggs, pork belly, mixed beans and Portobello mushrooms.
For the rest of the day there'll be tapas and small plates like cod brandade with roast green peppers, pork cheek salad, and cauliflower, sweet potato & roast cashew nuts and a range of stone-baked pizzas, charcuterie and cheese platters and a dish of the day.
From the look of it, the 50 seat dining room will be a popular pit stop. “We hope that in Jules, people will find a place that they can drop into at any time and with anyone,” says George.
