The arrival of local cafe Blend Harringay was a breath of fresh air to Green Lanes, bringing proper coffee, cakes and a great work and social space to the somewhat barren stretch between The Salisbury pub and Turnpike Lane.
Blend will now be livening up the area even more when they launches a six month residency from Sambal Shiok, who’ll be dishing up steaming hot bowls of laksa noodle soup from 25 October. The arrival of Sambal Shiok follows their highly successful previous runs in the Newman Arms, The Sun & 13 Cantons, and the nearby Finsbury Park branch of Salvation in Noodles.
“I’m excited to be coming back to north London, especially Green Lanes, as the first market to give me a chance was in Harringay when I started the business three years ago,” said Mandy Lin of Sambal Shiok.
Blend are equally delighted with the news, and have even admitted following Sambal Shiok’s residency from place to place in hunt of their prawn and coconut laksa. “We couldn’t be happier to bring this gem back to Harringay,” they said.
Sambal Shiok will be running a dinner service only, from Tuesdays to Sundays. If you live locally, you’ll also be able to order for delivery.
