After years based in the former Arcola Street theatre, Jones & Sons will enjoy a change of scenery when they relocate to their new home in Gillett Square this November.
Although the new restaurant, just 400 yards down the road, will have some decor to be reckoned with, including a marble-topped oak bar, things will remain largely the same on the menu-front: seasonal dining with an emphasis on provenance.
Wild mushrooms with fried duck, egg and truffle on toast will be on offer for brunch, as well as a chargrilled full English, and smoked haddock, egg and hollandaise. You’ll be able to tuck in with a warming mug of Monmouth coffee in the heated private courtyard, or go for one of the popular "Sunday lunches which will be “hyper-seasonal”, and change from week to week.
And popular it is, according to founder Andy Jones. “After nearly 4 years at the current site, I began proactively looking for a larger space so that we could cater for more people, especially at weekends when we are really busy for brunch and Sunday lunch,” he said.
Those who like a drink will be pleased to hear there’ll now be an entirely separate bar area at the larger site, with snacks and cocktails. There’ll be plenty of classics on offer, plus some bespoke botanical creations like the Gorski #2 made with home-smoked rum, or the surprisingly enticing-sounding Salty Peach made with flat peach and flakey sea salt.
Jones & Sons will move on 28 October to 3 Gillett Street, Dalston, London N16 8JH and will be open Tuesday - Thursday 6pm - 10pm, Friday 12pm-3pm/6pm-11pm, Saturday 11am-4pm/6pm-11pm and Sunday 11am-7pm. They have a soft launch with 50% off food at dinner from Friday 28 October - Saturday 29 October from 6pm. Go here to book and be sure to quote the offer. Follow Jone & Sons on Twitter @JonesSons.
