If you haven't already been out to see the floating garden jetty Farmopolis out on the Greenwich Peninsula, the opening of a new cafe might be the thing to entice you.
Farmopolis Cafe is going to be a permanent venue down here on the peninsula. It's being run by the same company Kofler and Kompanie , behind The Magazine restaurant at the Serpentine Sackler Gallery with their head and sous chefs responsible for the kitchen here.
Visitors heading to the garden installation will now be able to grab a bite at the all day cafe (which will seat 80 inside and 40 outside).
On the menu expect:
- Farmopolis Veggies and Lemon Balm Dip
- Beetroot Hummus, Petit Pois and Nasturtium Leaves
- Salt baked Sweet Potato, Ricotta and Sprouting Coriander
- Crispy Fosse Meadow Chicken, coleslaw and dill
- Chocolate, Kentish Cherry and Sea Salt
- Preserved Peach, Elderflower and Almond
Personally, the cake menu sounds pretty enticicing with Courgette and Lime and Pistachio and Rose being planned.
On the drinks front they'll have a short cocktail list featuring drinks such as Peas and Love (rum, pea infused cordial, mint and lime juice) and Jett-Tea-Setter (mezcal, pink grapefruit, and rosemary).
Farmopolis Café opens Tuesday, 20 September 2016 at The Jetty, Greenwich Peninsula, SE10 0FL. Opening hours will be Tuesday to Sunday: 12-9.30pm. Cakes and pastries available for breakfast 10am-12pm. Keep up with their news on Twitter @farmopolis
