We've long had wine pairing and then there was beer pairing - now London is seeing a new-ish trend for restaurants to pair food with cocktails. We recently tried the cocktail pairing menu at the Clove Club Bar. And now there's another intriguing combination in Fitzrovia with Rokas Shochu launching a Kaiseki Cocktail Pairing Menu next week.
The seven course menu of small dishes has been worked on by the ches in conjunction with the bar team. Diners sit up at the Shochu Table trying dishes ranging from sashimi and blowtorched wagyu nigiri to items from ROKA's robata grill. So expect Angus rib paired with a camomile flash-infused martini (pictured) and hot pot of king crab and wasabi tobiko paired with a smoky Japanese colada.
The Kaiseki Cocktail Pairing Menu runs from Monday 18 July 2016 at ROKA Charlotte Street's Shochu Lounge, 37 Charlotte St, London W1T 1RR. It costs £108 per person (inclusive of 20% VAT and 13.5% service charge). Reservations can be made for up to 6 guests on the Shochu Table, a shared table, from Monday to Sunday at 6.30pm until 9.30pm. Keep up with their news on Twitter @shochu_ldn
