13/4/16 - updated with opening date and dishes from the menu
The pair behind one of London's best loved restaurants, Moro, are expanding eastwards. Sam and Sam Clark are going to be opening their third restaurant, another Morito, on Hackney Road in May. Here's what we know so far:
- The new kitchen will be headed up by Samantha Clark and Marianna Love who is currently Head Chef at Moro
- They'll be open all day serving made-to-order Moroccan breads at breakfast, followed by lunch and dinner of tapas dishes and larger family-style plates for the whole table
- You're going to be able to try food from southern Spain, Morocco, Turkey and Crete that hasn't been seen before in London
- The new restaurant will have a horseshoe shaped marble topped bar and open kitchen
As for the menu - that'll have:
- Asparagus with clams;
- Aubergine manti with yoghurt and pistachios
- Homemade halloumi with pickled za’atar
- Kid mechoui with goat’s curd, preserved lemon and harissa
- Charcoal grilled fish with new season’s garlic, guindilla chillies and sherry vinegar
Morito opens at 195 Hackney Road, London E2 8JL on 11 May 2016. Opening hours will be breakfast from 8am Friday and Saturday and from 9am Sunday, lunch on Tuesday through to Sunday and dinner daily. Keep up with their news on Twitter @moritotapas
