Royal Garden Hotel brings out 1966 anniversary Bobby Moore menu

It's been fifty long years since England lifted up the World Cup. But rather than dwell on how many opportunities we've had (and failed) to recapture the cup, how about eating out to commemorate the glorious game instead?

Back in 1966 The Royal Garden Hotel in Kensington was the official host of Bobby Moore's winning World Cup team. Google it and you'll see some frankly amazing shots of the hotel completely mobbed as the team come out to show off the trophy. To mark the anniversary, they've teamed up with Moore's widow Stephanie to create a menu of dishes based on the former England captain’s favourite meals. The menu will also help raise money for Cancer Research UK through the Bobby Moore Fund.

You can order the menu (which certainly reads retro enough) in the hotel's Park Terrace lounge from today until 31st December 2016.

  • Potted Shrimp and Crab Cocktail with sour dough soldiers Spinach and Nutmeg Soup Fettuccini, peppers, olives, peas, broad beans and Heritage tomatoes, masked in basil oil American Baked Blueberry Cheesecake
