A new restaurant has just opened under the radar in Holland Park, with an impressive pedigree too. It's Six Portland Road and comes from Oli Barker (who used to head up Terroirs alongside Ed Wilson), with Head Chef Pascal Wiedermann who also worked at Terroirs. It should be worth seeking out for anyone who still regrets the loss of the Green Man and French Horn (we know we do).
It's a small 40 seater restaurant with an ever-changing menu - and a recent menu DOES sound good:
- Anchovy egg mayonnaise, mâche salad - £7.5
- Mozzarella, cime di rapa, chilli & breadcrumbs - £8
- Girolles, broad beans, spätzle & fried duck egg - £15
- Girolles, broad beans, spätzle & fried duck egg - £15
- Pork chop, Jersey Royals, wild garlic, sauce charcutiére - £17.5
- Chocolate mousse, griottines & almonds - £7.5
Obviously, given the background you can expect something pretty specal from the wine list too - and expect a few natural wines on there.
Six Portland Road is open now at, yes, 6 Portland Rd, London W11 4LA. For more, follow them on Instagram @sixportlandroad
