We can't go a week without hearing about some new innovative take on afternoon tea and this week's story comes courtesy of Balthazar which has just launched a Bobbi Brown tea.
The tea ties in with the cosmetic giant's 25th anniversary. So there's a chocolate and sharp blackberry Sachertorte for the Long-Wear Gel Eyeliner, Shimmer Bricks are made with champagne-infused rhubarb with orange and ginger cream, and redcurrant & lemon posset macarons are transformed into the line's Pot Rouge For Lips & Cheeks. In place of the Skin Foundation Stick you have a shortbread cake made with mango-passion fruit consommé topped with praline mousse encased in chocolate. They've even come up with their own take on a limited edition lippy; Vintage Red for Balthazar can be bought in store, but here it's a vanilla and rosewater mousse with financier sponge.
If you are thinking of heading down, you could always liven up tea with a Bobbi’s Party Cocktail - a cocktail by the restaurant's legendary head bartender Brian Silva which mixes Tequila Blanco and lemon and lime with sweet gingerbread liqueur and soda.
The Bobbi Brown Afternoon tea at Balthazar 4-6 Russell St, London WC2B 5HZ will run every day between 3-5pm until 29th September 2016, and is priced at £25.00 or £35.00 with a cocktail or glass of Champagne. To book call 020 3301 1155 or email balthazar-reservations@
